CW x FWA: A Colorful Partnership
Creative Workshop brought the live printing, staff uniforms, and custom prizing to FWA in ATL.
May 2025 marked our first time attending Furry Weekend Atlanta (FWA) — and it was also Argie’s Atlanta debut. This milestone event was our first major activation in Georgia since relocating our studio to Decatur.
Our Partnership was directly with the Video Game Room; Director of tournaments, arcade managers, and tabletop coordinators.
Each tournament winner received a one-of-a-kind jersey — custom printed live on-site the moment they were announced. This real-time customization became the foundation of our partnership:
A true CW x FWA collaboration. We brought our booth but worked closely with the FWA team to coordinate custom prints for staff and tournament winners.
We brought “The Workshop” in full force, designing, customizing, and printing all orders on-the-spot!
No two orders were alike when everything is made-to-order on-the-spot. At our full service Print Shop, we specialize in Custom Apparel Design.
We were an extension of the FWA VGR team. We sponsored prizing, provided printing to staff, and integrated our brand seamlessly with their vision for an interactive game room activation
Every year, Furry Weekend Atlanta (FWA) brings together thousands of fans in a vibrant celebration of art, gaming, creativity, and self-expression. With its welcoming community and bold annual themes, the event has become a cornerstone for fandom culture in the Southeast.
Held in downtown Atlanta, the convention welcomes “everyone interested in their furry side,” offering hundreds of hours of programming, large video game and board game rooms, artist alleys, vendor halls, dances, and more.
The Execution
Partnering with Furry Weekend Atlanta was especially exciting because we weren’t just showing up as vendors, we were bringing the full Creative Workshop experience. Instead of white-labeling the activation, we proudly represented our own brand while collaborating closely with the FWA team. It was the perfect balance: honoring their theme, contributing to their vision, and still showing up as the designers within the Print Shop that make CW…CW!
Our booth was fully loaded for the weekend: an array of T-shirt colors and sizes, hundreds of unique print designs, freshly restocked Argie pins and stickers, and a batch of playful badge ribbons created just for FWA attendees. The setup was visually bold, interactive, and designed to keep fans shopping, customizing, and coming back all weekend long.
The execution went flawlessly with one major twist;
WE UNDERESTIMATED OUR OWN POPULARITY!!
By Thursday night (before the convention officially hit full stride), we realized we needed way more inventory. We scrambled to order additional apparel blanks and print a fresh batch of designs, ultimately preparing closer to a thousand units instead of a few hundred.
The result? FWA became one of our most successful weekends to date — in traffic, engagement, and sales. It was a milestone event that showed just how strongly the CW brand resonates within the fandom community, and how much attendees value interactive, artist-driven merch experiences.
Strategy & Creative Direction
For FWA’s 2025 “Future Punk” theme, our goal was to design apparel that felt retro-futuristic and unmistakably us. We started by exploring a mix of 1970s retro aesthetics, analog technology, and playful character concepts.
Our team sketched dozens of concepts. This exploration led to a series of standout designs: a 1970s-inspired “Space Cat Argie” with bold funky lettering, a retro TV-shaped cat displaying a glitchy “No Signal” screen, a limited-edition Protogen character that glowed in the dark!
To honor the event’s fandom roots, we also revived favorites from past years including our “Fight Tooth and Nail” dog-skull graphic, Argie’s playful “Peach Head” art, and the iconic Koorgi-in-a-Peach design.
The result was a cohesive, Future Punk-inspired capsule collection that merged nostalgia with bold color and the unmistakable CW illustration style. Every design was created to resonate with FWA attendees, celebrate the theme, and feel right at home in the energetic, expressive world of the furry community.
